Lost Creek Campground is situated in a mixed conifer stand of spruce, fir, and pine along Lost Creek, approximately 18 miles west of Encampment, Wyoming on Highway 70 (Battle Highway). The campground features 13 small campsites designed for trailers under 22 feet, each equipped with picnic tables and fire grates. Vault toilets are available on-site, but potable water is not provided.
The campground serves as an excellent base camp for exploring the surrounding Sierra Madre area. Directly across Highway 70, the Baby Lakes Trail provides access to the Huston Park Wilderness, offering opportunities for backpacking and day hiking. Forest Road 811, located nearby, follows the Huston Park Wilderness boundary through the Battle Creek drainage and is popular for ATV riding. The area is also known for its fishing streams, wildlife viewing opportunities, and scenic drives, particularly beautiful during summer and autumn.
Highway 70 (Battle Highway) provides easy access to the campground and is considered one of the area's most scenic drives. The campground operates seasonally from mid-June through October, weather permitting, with a 14-day maximum stay limit.
