The campground operates seasonally, typically opening in mid-June after snowmelt and closing in October. At nearly 9,000 feet elevation, opening and closing dates depend on snow conditions. All sites are first-come, first-served with no advance reservations.

About

Haskins Creek Campground occupies a scenic forested setting along its namesake creek in the Sierra Madre Range of the Medicine Bow National Forest. The campground sits at approximately 8,950 feet elevation, providing cool mountain temperatures and a remote atmosphere about 15 miles west of Encampment via Wyoming Highway 70. The 13 campsites offer basic amenities including picnic tables, fire rings, vault toilets, and trash service. A camp host is typically on site during the operating season. The campground serves as a base for anglers fishing Haskins Creek and nearby streams, as well as hikers accessing trails to Baby Lakes and the Huston Park Wilderness. Wildlife viewing opportunities abound, with deer, moose, and elk commonly seen in the surrounding forest.

Directions

From Encampment, Wyoming, travel west on Wyoming Highway 70 for approximately 15 miles. The campground is located along the highway near Haskins Creek.
