About

Bottle Creek Campground is a small, forested campground at 8,800 feet elevation in the Sierra Madre Range of Medicine Bow National Forest. The 16 sites are designed for tent camping and small trailers under 16 feet in length. Each site includes a picnic table and fire grate, with vault toilets and potable water available in the campground. Maximum occupancy is 8 people and 2 vehicles per site. The campground provides excellent access to fishing on the Encampment River and North Fork Encampment River, where anglers can find brook, brown, and rainbow trout. Day hiking opportunities include trails to Green Mountain Falls and along the Encampment River. The area also supports road cycling, OHV riding, hunting, and wildlife watching. The Continental Divide is a popular nearby attraction. The town of Encampment is approximately 10 minutes away and offers restaurants, gas, and a small store for supplies. Wildlife is common in the area, so campers should maintain a clean camp.

Directions

From Encampment, take Wyoming Highway 70 west approximately 5 miles to Forest Road 550 (Hog Park Reservoir). Turn left onto Forest Road 550 and turn right after 0.1 mile. The campground entrance is 0.2 miles ahead.
