About
Bottle Creek Campground is a small, high-elevation campground located at 8,800 feet in the Sierra Madre Area of Medicine Bow National Forest. The facility offers 16 campsites designed for smaller rigs, with a maximum trailer length of 16 feet. Each site includes a picnic table and fire grate. The campground provides vault toilets and trash service. Potable water is available on-site according to official Forest Service information. The surrounding area offers excellent recreational opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts. The Encampment River and North Fork Encampment River provide quality fishing for brook, brown, and rainbow trout. Day hiking is popular at Green Mountain Falls and along the Encampment River corridor. OHV road riding and road cycling are available on nearby forest roads. The campground's location makes it an ideal base camp for big game hunting in the fall, and wildlife viewing opportunities are abundant throughout the season. The campground is located approximately 10 minutes from the town of Encampment, where visitors can access restaurants, gas stations, and a small store. The Continental Divide is accessible from the area, offering additional exploration opportunities for adventurous visitors.
