About
Lost Creek State Park sits at 6,211 feet elevation in a striking narrow canyon just north of Anaconda, Montana. The park encompasses 502 acres where dramatic white and pink granite walls rise over 1,200 feet above the campground floor. The centerpiece is Lost Creek Falls, a 50-foot cascade accessible via a short 125-yard walk from the campground. The 25 campsites are dispersed along Lost Creek and available on a first-come, first-served basis. The campground provides vault toilets, potable water, and fire rings, though campers must pack out all trash. RVs and trailers are limited to 23 feet. A camp host is present from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Wildlife viewing is excellent here. Golden eagles and bighorn sheep frequent the cliffs above the canyon, while pika inhabit the upper reaches of the park. A Forest Service trail extends north from the park through forests and meadows with mountain views, offering extended hiking opportunities beyond the falls.
Directions
From Anaconda, head north on Montana Highway 1 for approximately 2 miles. Turn east onto Lost Creek Road and continue for about 6 miles to the park entrance at 5750 Lost Creek Road.
