About

Los Alamos Group Campground is located in Angeles National Forest, approximately 20 miles north of Valencia, California, and 2.5 miles from Pyramid Lake. The campground offers three group campsites available by reservation only through Recreation.gov, with each site accommodating 40 guests and 10 vehicles. Sites are equipped with picnic tables and grills, and the facility includes flush toilets, fresh drinking water, and a dump station available free to overnight guests. The campground is set in the hills above the Santa Clarita Valley with mostly open campsites and limited tree shade. A camp store is on-site, and volleyball courts provide additional recreation opportunities. Campers staying at Los Alamos have priority access to Pyramid Lake, a 1,300-acre reservoir with 21 miles of shoreline offering swimming, waterskiing, wakeboarding, jet skiing, and fishing for striped bass, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, rainbow trout, crappie, and bluegill. The area features diverse wildlife including birds, squirrels, bobcats, mountain lions, bears, and Nelson bighorn sheep. Nearby attractions include the Vista Del Lago Visitor Center and the Hungry Valley Off-Road State Vehicular Recreation Area. Bears are active in the area, so all food must be stored in approved containers. Maximum RV length is 26 feet, and no hookups are available.
