Los Alamos Campground

Los Alamos Campground is the closest developed campground to Pyramid Lake, located in the Angeles National Forest just off Interstate 5, about 20 miles north of Valencia. At 2,900 feet elevation, the campground offers a convenient escape from the Los Angeles area, roughly 90 minutes from the city. The lake itself is 2.5 miles away and provides excellent recreational opportunities including swimming, waterskiing, wakeboarding, jet skiing, and fishing for striped bass, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, rainbow trout, crappie, and bluegill. The campground is operated by a concessionaire and features 90 single-family campsites and 3 group sites (each accommodating up to 40 guests and 10 vehicles). Standard sites include picnic tables and fire rings, while premium sites also feature shade ramadas. On-site amenities include flush toilets, potable water, a dump station available free to overnight guests, and a camp store. No showers or RV hookups are available, and the maximum RV length is 26 feet. Bear activity has been reported in the area, so all food must be stored in approved containers. Vessels entering Pyramid Lake must pass quagga mussel inspections and arrive clean, drained, and dry. Campers have priority access to Pyramid Lake but must be in line at the marina by 6:15 a.m. Dogs are permitted but must be kept on leash.

Adjacent to Interstate 5, 20 miles north of Valencia. Take Smokey Bear exit, drive west and follow signs to campground.
