Pyramid Lake Recreation Area and Los Alamos Campground is open. There is no closure. There are just no reservations able to be made at this time for Boat and or Personal Water Craft - It is First Come First Serve as it as always been. Reservations have never been accepted.

Los Alamos Campground is the closest developed camping facility to Pyramid Lake in Angeles National Forest, located at 2,900 feet elevation in the hills above the Santa Clarita Valley. The campground features 90 single-family sites and 3 group sites, each equipped with picnic tables and fire rings. Flush toilets and piped drinking water are available throughout. A camp store provides supplies, and overnight guests have free access to the dump station. Pyramid Lake spans 1,300 acres with 21 miles of shoreline, drawing visitors for jet skiing, wakeboarding, and fishing. Anglers can target striped bass, largemouth and smallmouth bass, rainbow trout, crappie, and bluegill. The Vista Del Lago Visitor Center nearby offers panoramic lake views and educational exhibits about California's water systems. Hungry Valley Off-Road State Vehicular Recreation Area is just minutes away for OHV enthusiasts. Campsites are mostly open with limited shade in Loop 3. Some premium sites feature shade ramadas. The campground operates year-round and is managed by a concessionaire. Maximum RV length is 26 feet with no hookups available.

Directions

From Valencia, California, drive 20 miles north on Interstate 5, then take the Smokey Bear exit west. Make a left on Pyramid Lake Road. Take a right at Hard Luck Road and continue 1.5 miles to the campground.
