Open — Open year-round on a first-come, first-served basis at $5 per night. Access may be closed between November 1st and April 30th due to seasonal road closures. Due to daily closure of Hungry Valley State Park, the Gold Hill Road gate closes daily between 5:00pm and 8:30am. No potable water available; campers must bring their own.

Kings Campground is a small, primitive campground with 6 sites located in the Los Padres National Forest near Hungry Valley SVRA. Surrounded by pinyon pines and chaparral vegetation, the campground sits at 4,240 feet elevation and offers a peaceful camping experience with good spacing between sites for privacy. Each campsite includes a picnic table and fire ring, with fires allowed only in designated rings. The campground features a vault toilet but no potable water, so campers must bring their own water. Kings Campground provides direct access to the Snowy OHV Trail, making it popular with off-highway vehicle enthusiasts. The area is accessible via Gold Hill Road, though access may be restricted seasonally. Quiet hours are enforced from 10:00pm to 6:00am, and a 14-day stay limit applies.
