About

Dutchman Campground is a small, rustic campground located at 6,716 feet in the Mt. Pinos Ranger District of Los Padres National Forest in Ventura County. The campground offers 5 first-come, first-served sites nestled among Jeffrey pines, providing a quiet retreat for tent campers and hunters during fall season. Each site includes a picnic table and fire ring with grill. A single vault toilet serves the campground, but no potable water is available, so campers must bring their own supply. The campground operates on a pack-it-out basis for trash. Access is via Alamo Loop Road (Forest Road 7N01), approximately six miles south of the Gold Hill area and two miles west of Alamo Loop Junction. A high-clearance vehicle is recommended due to road conditions. The McPherson Peak Trail and Aliso Trail depart from the campground area.

Directions

From Frazier Park, take Lockwood Valley Road to Alamo Loop Road (Forest Road 7N01). Continue approximately six miles south of the Gold Hill area. The campground is two miles west of Alamo Loop Junction. High-clearance vehicle recommended.
