Logan State Park

Open — The park is open year-round from 7 am to 10 pm. B-loop operates year-round on a first-come, first-served basis. A-loop closed September 21, 2025 and will reopen in May 2026. The RV dump station is only available to registered campers and closes in early October, reopening in May.

About

Logan State Park sits on 17 acres along the north shore of Middle Thompson Lake in northwest Montana, nestled within the larger 3,000-acre Thompson Chain of Lakes State Park system. At an elevation of 3,333 feet, the park is heavily forested with mature western larch, Douglas-fir, and ponderosa pine, creating a scenic and shaded camping environment. The park features 37 total campsites accommodating RVs up to 40 feet in length, with some sites offering hookups. The park provides extensive water-based recreation opportunities on Middle Thompson Lake, including swimming, boating, water skiing, fishing for rainbow trout and largemouth bass, and canoeing. A boat launch and reservable boat slips are available seasonally. The park includes modern amenities such as flush toilets, showers, drinking water, a dump station, picnic areas with shelters, and a horseshoe pit. Each campsite features a fire ring and picnic table. The park is known for its family-friendly atmosphere and excellent fishing access. Located approximately 45 miles southeast of Libby on Highway 2, Logan State Park operates year-round with varying levels of service. B-loop remains open through winter for first-come, first-served camping, while A-loop operates seasonally. The park is popular for wildlife viewing, photography, and offers ice fishing opportunities in winter months.
