About

Raven Ranger Station is a historic Forest Service site in the Kootenai National Forest of northwest Montana, approximately 35 miles south of Libby along Highway 2. The station served as an administrative facility from 1906 until the late 1960s, when district headquarters were consolidated and moved to Canoe Gulch. This location is not an established campground or reservable cabin. The site has no facilities: no potable water, no restrooms, and no developed campsites. Visitors should not expect any services or amenities at this location. Dispersed camping is generally permitted on Kootenai National Forest land following standard USFS regulations, which typically include a 14-day stay limit and requirements to camp at least 200 feet from water sources. Campers must be fully self-sufficient with their own water, waste management, and gear.
