About

Littleton Horse Camp serves equestrians and hikers seeking access to the extensive trail network in the western Olympic National Forest. The campground features two distinct areas: one section with pole corrals surrounded by walk-in tent sites, and another with larger back-in and pull-through sites equipped with hitching rails. Some walk-in tent sites include fire rings, and most sites enjoy ample shade throughout the day. From this trailhead, riders and hikers can explore over 25 miles of trail spanning multiple systems including Mt. Muller, Snider Ridge, and the Olympic Discovery Trail. The Backcountry Horsemen volunteers maintain a seasonal non-potable water system for stock use from spring through fall. Human visitors must bring all drinking water. Vehicle parking spurs are reserved for stock users until 6:00 PM; walk-in tent sites operate first-come, first-served for all users. The campground is maintained through a partnership between the Backcountry Horsemen volunteers and Clallam County. Payment is handled via Scan & Pay on the Recreation.gov mobile app, which should be downloaded before arrival due to limited cellular coverage in the area.
