About
Heart O' the Hills Campground is a peaceful year-round retreat located in the old growth forests of Olympic National Park, just 15 minutes from downtown Port Angeles. Situated along Hurricane Ridge Road, this 97-site campground serves as an excellent base for exploring the park's northern areas and accessing the Hurricane Ridge scenic area. The campground operates entirely on a first-come, first-served basis with no advance reservations available. Most sites accommodate RVs and trailers up to 21 feet, with a few sites able to handle vehicles up to 35 feet. Each site includes a fire grate and picnic table. The campground features flush toilets that remain operational year-round, potable water, and food storage lockers during the peak season. Accessible facilities include paved campsites, accessible restrooms in loops A and C, and picnic table extensions. During summer months, the campground offers ranger programs at its amphitheater, providing educational opportunities for families and campers. A volunteer host is typically on-site during the busy season. Firewood is available for purchase seasonally, and trash and recycling collection services are provided. While the campground lacks showers and hookups, its proximity to Port Angeles makes resupply and services easily accessible.
