About

Heart O' The Hills Campground provides a classic Pacific Northwest forest camping experience within Olympic National Park. Located five miles south of Port Angeles along Hurricane Ridge Road, the campground is nestled among massive old-growth conifers that create a shaded, tranquil environment. The 97 sites are spread across multiple loops and operate on a first-come, first-served basis with self-registration at the campground entrance. Facilities include year-round flush toilets and potable water, fire rings with cooking grates at each site, picnic tables, and animal-proof food storage lockers. The campground is fully accessible with paved campsites and accessible restrooms in loops A and C. An amphitheater hosts ranger-led interpretive programs from late June through September. The campground serves as an excellent base for exploring Hurricane Ridge, with the road to the alpine meadows and panoramic mountain views departing from nearby. While sites can accommodate RVs and trailers up to 21 feet (a few up to 35 feet), there are no hookups or dump station. The campground operates year-round, though access may be walk-in only during heavy snowfall periods.
