About

Fairholme Campground is nestled on the western shore of Lake Crescent in Olympic National Park, surrounded by steep mountains and old-growth forest. The campground offers 88 sites including both walk-in lakefront campsites with lake views and drive-in sites set among towering trees. Lake Crescent is a glacially carved lake with crystal-clear azure waters plunging to 624 feet deep, created by ice sheets thousands of years ago. The campground serves as an ideal base camp for exploring Olympic National Park, positioned between Port Angeles (with access to Hurricane Ridge) and popular western park destinations like Rialto Beach, Hoh Rainforest, and Ruby Beach. A boat launch adjacent to the campground provides easy water access for paddling and boating. Nearby hiking trails include Marymere Falls, Mount Storm King, and Sol Duc Falls, with the Sol Duc Hot Springs Resort also within reach. The Olympic Discovery Trail is located about 2 miles west on Highway 101. Fairholme operates as a reservation-only campground during peak season, with sites released in staggered blocks by loop: B loop and most walk-to sites 6 months in advance, C loop 2 weeks in advance, and A loop 4 days in advance. The campground features flush toilets, potable water during operating season, and an RV dump station at the boat launch. Maximum vehicle length is 21 feet due to narrow roads with tight turns and low tree branches.

Directions

Fairholme Campground is located on the west side of Lake Crescent within Olympic National Park, about 45 minutes west of Port Angeles and 30 minutes east of Forks. Access via Camp David Jr. Road off US Highway 101.
