About

Kalaloch Campground occupies a dramatic position on the rugged southwest coast of Olympic National Park, perched on a coastal bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Set amidst a peaceful temperate rainforest that thrives on the region's high annual rainfall, the campground offers 170 sites spread across six loops (A through F). Several oceanside sites provide views of the water, while trails and steps near the campground and adjacent Kalaloch Lodge descend approximately 40 feet to the beach below. The campground is fully developed with flush toilets, potable water from spigots at loop restrooms, and an RV dump station. Each site includes a picnic table and fire ring. Firewood is available for purchase at Kalaloch Lodge, half a mile south. No hookups or showers are available on-site. Sites accommodate RVs and trailers up to 21 feet, with a limited number accommodating up to 35 feet. The narrow roads with low branches and tight turns make this campground challenging for larger rigs. The Kalaloch area is renowned for its tide pools, birding opportunities, and dramatic coastal scenery. Western gulls, bald eagles, and occasionally puffins can be spotted. The Kalaloch Creek Nature Trail offers a mile-long forest walk. Swimming is possible but visitors should be aware of drifting logs and rip currents. Some ocean bluff sites in Loops A, D, and E have been permanently closed due to erosion.
