About
Hoh Rainforest Campground is located at the terminus of Upper Hoh Road in Olympic National Park, deep within one of the most spectacular temperate rainforests remaining in the United States. The campground's 78 sites are distributed across multiple loops beneath a verdant canopy of Sitka spruce, western hemlock, and Douglas fir, with some riverside sites offering direct access to the Hoh River. The area's 140 inches of annual precipitation creates an otherworldly landscape where club moss drapes from bigleaf maples and ferns blanket every surface. The campground serves as the primary base for exploring the Hoh Rain Forest area. The nearby visitor center provides interpretive exhibits and ranger programs during summer months. From the trailhead, visitors can access the 0.8-mile Hall of Mosses Trail through old growth forest, the 1.2-mile Spruce Nature Trail along Taft Creek, and the Hoh River Trail, which extends 18.5 miles to the Blue Glacier moraine on Mount Olympus. Popular day-hiking destinations include Mineral Creek Falls at 2.7 miles and 5 Mile Island. The campground operates on a dual reservation system during peak season and first-come, first-served basis during winter months. Sites can accommodate RVs and trailers up to 21 feet, with a few sites suitable for rigs up to 35 feet. Facilities include flush toilets year-round, potable water, accessible campsites, and evening ranger programs in summer. Each site features a fire grate and picnic table. Pets are permitted on leash in the campground but not on trails.
