Little Missouri State Park Day Use

Open

The park is open seasonally from May through October. This is a day-use picnic area only; overnight camping is not permitted here. Overnight visitors should use the separate campground within the park.

About

Little Missouri State Park Day Use provides a dedicated picnic and day-use area within the 5,749-acre state park located in the rugged badlands of western North Dakota. The day use area features three rentable picnic shelters: the small Aspen shelter and two larger shelters (Ponderosa and Redwood). Vault toilets are available on site. The park is renowned as one of North Dakota's designated horse parks, featuring 81 corrals and a round pen for equestrian visitors. Over 40 miles of trails wind through the dramatic badlands landscape, open to both hikers and horseback riders. Wildlife in the park includes mule deer, coyotes, foxes, bobcats, and golden eagles. This is a day-use facility only. Overnight camping is available at the separate campground within the park, which offers primitive and modern sites with electrical hookups.
