About
Little Joe Campground is a small, peaceful campground located along the Pioneer Mountains Scenic Byway in the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest. At 6,800 feet elevation, campers enjoy incredible views of surrounding mountain peaks, valleys, and forests. The campground features 5 camping units, each with a picnic table and firepit, plus a day-use picnic area. Amenities include an ADA-accessible vault toilet and potable water from a hand pump. There is no garbage service, so visitors must pack out all trash. Trailers over 28 feet are not recommended due to site size limitations. Wise River runs nearby, providing excellent opportunities for stream fishing. The campground operates first-come, first-served from mid-May through September, with dates dependent on weather and snow conditions. Sites are $15 per night with an additional $5 fee per extra vehicle. The campground is managed by the Wisdom Ranger District and is located approximately 21 miles south of the intersection of Montana Highway 43 and Forest Service Road 73.
