The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect. * Affected Area... North and central Georgia * Timing... This afternoon into early evening. * Winds... NW at 10-15 mph; with gusts as high as 25 mph. * Relative Humidity... Falling below 25% by early afternoon. * Temperatures... 30s to 40s. * Impacts... With elevated winds and low relative humidities, extremely dangerous fire weather conditions are possible.

Little Hall Shelter is situated within Little Hall Park on the shores of Lake Sidney Lanier, located in the forested foothills of the Georgia Blue Ridge Mountains. The park lies approximately 30 miles north of Buford Dam and provides visitors with stunning views of the lake's aqua-blue water and access to a variety of recreational activities. The shelter is a group picnic area facility managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and is available for advance reservations through Recreation.gov. The park features a designated swim beach, picnic areas with tables and grills, restrooms, and boat ramp access. Visitors can explore the Laurel Ridge Hiking Trail, a 3.5-mile loop offering scenic views of Lake Lanier and the Chattahoochee River. The lake itself boasts 38,000 surface acres, 690 miles of shoreline, and over 100 small islands. Fishing opportunities abound with species including bass, catfish, and panfish. Popular activities include swimming, boating, wake boarding, kayaking, and hiking. The shelter cannot be reserved in person at the park and day-use park fees apply to all visitors in addition to shelter reservation fees. Alcohol, fireworks, directional signage along roadways, amplified live music, and PA systems are prohibited. Parking is first-come, first-served, and shelters become first-come, first-served on Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day weekends.

From Georgia Highway 400, take exit 17, turn right onto Hwy. 306 and follow signs for Hwy. 53, turn right onto Hwy. 53, turn right into Little Hall Park. From Interstate 985, take exit 16 and turn left onto Hwy. 53. Follow signs for Hwy. 53 west, turn left into Little Hall Park.
