AQAFFC The Georgia Department of Natural Resources, Environmental Protection Division has issued a Code Orange (Unhealthy for sensitive groups) Air Quality Alert for Atlanta for Thursday July 2. Under Code Orange conditions, the outdoor air quality is likely to be unhealthy for some people. Children, people who are sensitive to ozone, and people with heart or lung disease should limit prolonged outdoor exertion during the late afternoon or early evening when ozone concentrations are highest. About
Duckett Mill Campground occupies a peaceful stretch of Lake Sidney Lanier's 692-mile shoreline in Hall County, Georgia, about an hour north of Atlanta. The 111-site campground features 97 multiuse sites with water and electric hookups suitable for RVs and tents, plus 14 primitive tent-only sites without utilities. Paved roads and sites make for easy navigation. On-site amenities include restrooms with showers, a dump station, laundry facilities, campfire rings, grills, and picnic tables at each site. ADA-accessible campsites are available. Pets are welcome. A firewood vendor serves the campground. Recreation centers on the lake with a swimming beach and boat ramp just outside the campground. Fishing, kayaking, wakeboarding, and boating opportunities abound on the 38,000-acre reservoir. Nearby Don Carter State Park and Sawnee Mountain Preserve offer hiking and birding.
Directions
From GA-400 north, take exit 17. Turn right on GA-306, right on GA-53, then right on Duckett Mill Road. Follow Duckett Mill Road into the campground.
