The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect. * Affected Area... North and central Georgia * Timing... This afternoon into early evening. * Winds... NW at 10-15 mph; with gusts as high as 25 mph. * Relative Humidity... Falling below 25% by early afternoon. * Temperatures... 30s to 40s. * Impacts... With elevated winds and low relative humidities, extremely dangerous fire weather conditions are possible.

Bolding Mill Park lies approximately 30 miles north of Buford Dam on Lake Sidney Lanier, featuring beautiful views of the lake and excellent access to water recreation. The site offers two group picnic shelters available for advance reservation through Recreation.gov. Visitors enjoy access to a large designated swim beach with a gentle concrete slope providing ADA accessibility, along with picnic areas, restrooms, boat ramp, and fishing pier. The park provides access to the Laurel Ridge Hiking Trail, a 3.5-mile loop offering scenic views of the lake and Chattahoochee River. Lake Lanier is well known for its aqua-blue colored water, spectacular scenery, and variety of recreational activities. Anglers can expect to catch bass, catfish, and panfish. Activities include fishing, swimming, wakeboarding, kayaking, and hiking. Lake Lanier boasts 38,000 surface acres, 690 miles of shoreline, and over 100 small islands. Its location in the forested foothills of the Georgia Blue Ridge Mountains makes for a beautiful backdrop to any activity. Shelters operate on a first-come, first-served basis during Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day weekends. Day-use park fees apply to all visitors and are not included in shelter reservations.
