About

Old Federal Campground occupies a scenic stretch of Lake Sidney Lanier's eastern shoreline in Hall County, Georgia. The reservoir spans 38,000 surface acres with 692 miles of shoreline, created in 1956 by Buford Dam on the Chattahoochee River. The campground offers direct lake access for fishing, swimming, and boating in the aqua-blue waters that draw over 11 million visitors annually. The facility provides 84 campsites across multiple configurations: 61 multiuse RV/tent sites with water and electric hookups, 19 primitive tent-only sites without utilities, and additional walk-in sites for those seeking more seclusion. All hookup sites have water and 30/50-amp electric but no sewer connections. Amenities include bathhouses with flush toilets and showers, laundry facilities, a dump station, picnic tables, fire rings, and grills. A swimming beach and boat ramp with trailer parking provide lake recreation access. The campground operates as a gated facility with gates locking at 10:30 PM and reopening at 7 AM. Check-in is 3 PM and check-out is 1 PM. Maximum stay is 14 consecutive nights per 30-day period. Reservations are handled through Hall County Parks via their online system at secure.itinio.com/hallcounty. America the Beautiful passes are honored for discounts.
