The Army Corps of Engineers campgrounds in Hall County are being co-managed between the USACE at Lake Sidney Lanier and Hall County Parks and Rec. Bolding Mill Campground is an excellent choice for camping on Lake Sidney Lanier, offering comfortable amenities in a well-maintained facility on the northwest side of the lake. The campground features 88 sites with electric and water hookups, along with several lakeside tent-only sites perfect for those seeking a more rustic experience. The large concrete swimming beach provides a gentle slope and ADA access for visitors of all abilities. Water enthusiasts will appreciate the on-site boat ramp and fishing pier, providing easy access to Lake Lanier's 38,000 surface water acres known for aqua-blue coloring and spectacular scenery in the forested foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Land-based recreation includes picnic shelters and a playground area near the front of the park. The campground is now co-managed by Hall County Parks and Recreation and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Hall County has taken over day-to-day operations including reservations and operating dates, and honors America the Beautiful passes for discounts. Nearby attractions include Don Carter State Park for birding and hiking, Sawnee Mountain Preserve with scenic overlooks and rock climbing, and the towns of Gainesville, Dawsonville, and Dalonega.
