About
Lithia Springs Campground is located on the eastern shore of Lake Shelbyville, managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The campground lies within an oak and hickory forest that displays vibrant fall foliage and prairie wildflowers in spring and summer. The area supports diverse wildlife including songbirds, shorebirds, waterfowl, raptors, white-tail deer, and various small mammals. Lake Shelbyville offers excellent fishing opportunities for catfish, crappie, largemouth bass, muskie, walleye, white bass, and bluegill. The campground provides a boat ramp for lake access, and several stocked ponds around the lake offer alternatives for those without boats. Hunting areas nearby support quail, rabbit, pheasant, deer, dove, turkey, waterfowl, and woodcock. Each site includes a picnic table, fire ring/grill, and lantern hanger. Sites accommodate up to 8 people, with standard sites fitting one RV plus three tents, or four tents. Double sites accommodate two RVs and six tents, or eight tents. Some lakeside sites have steep banks limiting direct water access. Only locally-sourced firewood is permitted.
