About
Linn Run State Park encompasses 612 acres of varied topography covered in mixed hardwood and evergreen forest in Cook Township, Westmoreland County. The park offers cabin rentals rather than traditional tent or RV camping, with 9 rustic cabins and 1 modern cabin available for year-round rental. During summer season, only weekly rentals are available. The rustic cabins feature simple furnishings including beds, benches, tables, electric heaters, electric stoves, refrigerators, and fireplace inserts for heating. These cabins are served by outside water spigots, rustic toilets, and a centralized modern washhouse with showers and flush toilets. The modern cabin provides more amenities and is ADA accessible. Many of these structures were built by the Civilian Conservation Corps between 1933 and 1942. The park centers around Linn Run, an excellent trout stream formed where Grove and Rock runs converge. Adam Falls provides a scenic waterfall destination. Linn Run State Park borders Forbes State Forest, offering access to 50,000 additional acres of outdoor recreation opportunities. The park's location in southwestern Pennsylvania places it south of Pittsburgh in the Laurel Highlands region.
