About
Located 18 miles east of Williston in Williams County, Lewis and Clark State Park Campground occupies 525 acres along Lake Sakakawea's northern shore. The campground offers 96 sites spread across multiple loops: 41 sites with full hookups (50-amp electric, water, and sewer), 47 with electric and water hookups, and 8 primitive tent sites. Several sites accommodate multiple units. The park's modern marina features protected slips ranging from 20 to 50 feet, fuel service, and pump-out facilities. A four-lane boat ramp provides easy lake access for anglers pursuing walleye, sauger, and northern pike. The campground is well-equipped with flush toilets, hot showers, a dump station, and a visitor center (Trader's Bay) stocked with ice, firewood, and supplies. Two seasonal camping cabins are available in the Siltstone Loop. Day-use amenities include a swimming beach, fish cleaning station, dog park, amphitheater, and three picnic shelters. Over 5 miles of hiking and mountain biking trails wind through native prairie and wooded draws, offering wildlife viewing and panoramic lake views against a backdrop of towering buttes. The park is named for the Lewis and Clark expedition, which camped nearby in April 1805.
