...RED FLAG WARNING FOR ALL OF WESTERN AND CENTRAL NORTH DAKOTA, INCLUDING THE JAMES RIVER VALLEY TODAY THROUGH FRIDAY... .Critical fire weather conditions will continue through Friday across western and central North Dakota, including the James River Valley. Westerly winds around 35 to 45 mph with gusts to 65 mph are expected in northwest and north central North Dakota through early this evening, with westerly winds around 30 to 40 mph and gusts to 55 mph in southwest and south central North Dakota. It will remain windy through tonight, with westerly winds increasing back to 25 to 35 mph and gusting to 50 mph Friday afternoon. Relative humidity will only recover to around 40 to 50 percent tonight and fall back to as low as 15 percent Friday afternoon. Lewis & Clark State Park is situated on the scenic north shore of Lake Sakakawea, surrounded by the dramatic butte landscape of northwestern North Dakota. The park offers excellent access to the lake for boating, fishing, and swimming at the designated beach. The campground provides 101 sites across several loops. Premium sites offer full hookups including electric, water, and sewer connections. Modern sites include electric and water hookups. Eight primitive sites are available for tent campers seeking a simpler experience. Group camping areas can accommodate larger parties. Two seasonal camping cabins (Scoria and Flint) sleep up to five guests and include basic amenities. Facilities include comfort stations with flush toilets and showers, a sewage dump station, fish cleaning station, and picnic shelters. A dog park provides off-leash recreation for pets. Reservations can be made up to 95 days in advance online or by phone.
