About

Hunt Camp 79A (Site 079A) is a primitive dispersed campsite situated in the Blue Lake Recreation Area of Delta National Forest, the only bottomland hardwood forest in the National Forest System. Located in Sharkey County, Mississippi, this site provides a rustic camping experience in the heart of the Mississippi Delta lowlands. The campsite features a graveled pad, fire ring, lantern post, and picnic table. The 65-foot gravel driveway accommodates back-in access for vehicles including tents, trailers, and RVs up to 30 feet in length. Maximum occupancy is 8 people with 2 vehicles allowed per site. Pets are permitted and campfires are allowed in the provided fire ring. Note that this is a primitive site with no potable water or restrooms at the campsite itself. Potable water is available at the Delta Work Center on Forest Service Road 703. Restroom facilities are located along Forest Service Roads 715, 717, 720, and 707 throughout the forest.
