About

Hunt Camp 79B is one of three designated campsites (079A, 079B, 079C) within the Blue Lake Recreation Area in Delta National Forest. The site accommodates tents, trailers, and RVs up to 30 feet with a back-in gravel driveway. Each campsite includes a graveled pad, fire ring, lantern post, and picnic table. A vault toilet serves the recreation area, though no potable water is available on site. Blue Lake Recreation Area provides a quiet setting for primitive camping with access to lake fishing, a gravel boat launch suitable for small watercraft, and a 2-mile interpretive nature trail focused on outdoor education. The Delta National Forest is Mississippi's only national forest in the Delta region and features bottomland hardwood habitat. Potable water is available at the Delta Ranger District work center on Forest Service Road 703. Reservations are required for all campsites and must be made through Recreation.gov at least 48 hours in advance. Bears and other wildlife may be present; proper food storage is required.
