About

Leggett Creek Campground is a rustic, no-fee campground in the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests, situated along Leggett Creek approximately 14 miles west of Elk City, Idaho. The campground features 5 sites with fire rings and easy access suitable for larger RVs and trailers. A single vault toilet serves the campground. The primary draw for campers is the excellent fishing access to both Leggett Creek and the nearby South Fork of the Clearwater River. Road access to lower Leggett Creek and the Reed Mountain area is available via Leggett Creek Road #649. The campground operates on a pack-it-in, pack-it-out basis with no trash receptacles or garbage services provided. The campground is open year-round on a first-come, first-served basis, though winter access may be limited by snow conditions. Campers should bring their own drinking water as no potable water is available on site.

Directions

Travel east on State Highway 14 toward Elk City. Turn north at the junction with Leggett Creek Road #649, approximately 14 miles west of Elk City. The campground is just west of Road #649.
