Crooked River Campground #4 is a primitive, no-fee campground located along Crooked River in the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests at 3,960 feet elevation. The campground features four camping pads screened by trees, making it ideal for large visitor parties seeking a secluded setting. A small fishing and swimming pond is located on-site, and campers have easy access to Crooked River for trout fishing and water recreation. This is a true backcountry camping experience with no developed amenities. No potable water is available, so visitors must bring their own supply. There are no garbage services, and campers must pack out all trash. The campground is accessed via Crooked River Road #233, approximately 2.5 miles south from State Highway 14. The area is popular for fishing, hiking, hunting, snowmobiling, and cross-country skiing depending on the season. While the campground is open year-round, winter access may be limited or impossible due to snow conditions on the forest roads.
