Lava Butte Campground appears in Forest Service records as a proposed campground along Tenmile Road in Fresno County, within the Giant Sequoia National Monument boundaries of Sequoia National Forest. The campground does not appear to be operational or developed at this time. Tenmile Road provides access to the nearby Ten Mile Campground and connects to areas near Hume Lake, a popular recreation destination in the forest. The region features sequoia groves, mountain biking trails, and opportunities for hiking at elevations around 5,800 feet.
