About

Ten Mile Campground is a primitive campground in the Giant Sequoia National Monument, located 5 miles from Hume Lake on Ten Mile Road at 5,294 feet elevation. The campground features 13 single and double-family campsites adjacent to Ten Mile Creek, a stream popular with anglers. Sites are dwarfed by towering sequoia and ponderosa pines and include picnic tables, campfire rings, and bear lockers. Vault toilets are provided, but there is no potable water available. Nearby Hume Lake offers year-round recreation opportunities, including fishing, non-motorized boating, hiking, and mountain biking during warmer months. Winter visitors enjoy snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and snowmobiling. Bearskin Grove, accessible via nearby forest roads, offers the rare opportunity to photograph entire mature sequoias in one frame, with about 50 trees measuring over six feet in diameter. Places like Hume Lake, Boyden Cavern, and Princess Meadow provide additional summer recreation opportunities, and visitors frequently make day trips to Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Parks.
