About
Aspen Hollow Group is a reservable group campground situated at 5,300 feet elevation within the Giant Sequoia National Monument, part of Sequoia National Forest. The campground sits adjacent to Kings Canyon National Park and is located approximately one mile from Hume Lake, an 87-acre man-made lake popular for swimming, trout fishing, and non-motorized boating. The single group site accommodates up to 100 people with back-in parking for 35 vehicles. Facilities include three vault toilets, potable drinking water from a hand pump, 12 picnic tables, a group pedestal grill and fire ring, three smaller fire rings with grills, serving tables, and four bear-resistant food storage lockers. The camping areas, parking, and roads are paved. Recreation opportunities abound in the surrounding area. Visitors can hike among the giant sequoia groves, explore trails open to hikers, horses, and mountain bikes (bikes prohibited in wilderness areas), or enjoy water activities at nearby Hume Lake. The campground is in bear country, so proper food storage is required and transporting firewood is prohibited.
Directions
From Fresno, California, take Highway 180 east to Grants Grove. Drive approximately 12 miles, then take a right onto Hume Road and continue 4 more miles, passing Christian Camps. Take a right at the Aspen Hollow sign. Go 3/4 mile to reach the campground entrance.
