About

Laurel Branch Campground is a well-equipped Army Corps of Engineers facility on the scenic shores of Rough River Lake in rural south-central Kentucky. The 5,100-acre lake is surrounded by rolling, forested hills and features ancient sandstone, shale, and limestone cliffs. More than two million visitors enjoy the lake annually for camping, fishing, swimming, and boating. The campground offers approximately 70 sites, with many featuring electric and water hookups. Pull-through sites are available for larger rigs. Each site includes a picnic table and fire ring. Modern bathhouses provide flush toilets and hot showers. A centralized dump station serves RV campers. Additional facilities include a boat ramp, public beach, playground, fish cleaning station, and nature trail. WiFi is available from an outside provider for an additional fee. Bass, crappie, and catfish are the primary targets for anglers, and the lake hosts bass tournaments throughout the year. Pontoon, johnboat, and jet ski rentals are available at nearby marinas. Mammoth Cave National Park, featuring the world's longest cave system, is about an hour's drive away.
