About

Cave Creek Campground occupies a scenic location on Rough River Lake, a 5,100-acre reservoir in the rolling, forested hills of south-central Kentucky. The lake draws over two million visitors annually for camping, fishing, boating, and swimming. Bass, crappie, and catfish are the most sought-after species, with bass tournaments held throughout the year. Pontoon, johnboat, and jet ski rentals are available at nearby marinas. The campground offers 65 sites: 49 electric/water sites with 30/50-amp pedestals and water spigots, plus 16 primitive non-electric sites with access to shared water spigots and comfort stations. On-site amenities include a shower house, dump station, boat ramp, fishing pier, courtesy dock, playground, shelter, disc golf course, basketball court, and mountain bike trails. Nearby attractions include the historic Green Farm with its ancestral home and water-powered mill, Rough River Dam State Resort Park, and Mammoth Cave National Park, about an hour's drive away.
