Tailwater Day Use

Tailwater Day Use is a scenic day-use recreation area situated on the Nolin River directly below Nolin River Lake Dam and Spillway in Edmonson County, Kentucky. Managed by the US Army Corps of Engineers Louisville District, the facility provides river access for paddlers and boaters heading downstream toward Mammoth Cave National Park. The area features a paved boat ramp, restrooms, playgrounds, picnic tables, and one reservable group shelter equipped with electric hookups. The shelter can be reserved through Recreation.gov and is suitable for family gatherings, reunions, or group events. Special event permits may be required for larger activities beyond the standard shelter reservation. This is a day-use facility rather than a traditional campground. There are no individual overnight campsites available. Visitors seeking overnight camping accommodations should explore one of the six developed campgrounds around Nolin River Lake.

From Bowling Green, KY: Follow US 31W North for approximately 14 miles, turn left onto KY 101. In approximately 6 miles, KY 101 becomes KY 259 North. Follow KY 259 North for 11 miles, turn right on KY 728. Follow KY 728 for 2 miles and follow signs to Nolin Tailwater on the right.
