Nolin Lake State Park

Closed

Closed indefinitely due to substantial flooding in 2025 that damaged park infrastructure. No reopening date has been announced. Normal operating season is April 1 through October 31.

About

Nolin Lake State Park sits on the western edge of a 5,795-acre U.S. Army Corps of Engineers reservoir in Edmonson County, Kentucky. The campground features 60 sites spread across improved and primitive loops: 32 standard electric sites with water access and 27 primitive tent sites. Three campsites have been adapted for ADA accessibility. A centrally located bathhouse provides flush toilets, showers, and laundry facilities, while a dump station serves RV campers. The park's location just 14 miles from Mammoth Cave National Park makes it an excellent basecamp for exploring the world's longest cave system. The lake itself offers outstanding fishing for bass, walleye, catfish, and crappie, along with a sand beach swimming area and boat launch ramp. A camp store sells firewood, ice, and basic supplies. Water skiing and power boating are popular activities on the lake. The regular camping season runs from April 1 through October 31. Sites accommodate up to 8 people maximum, with the base rate covering 4 adults and children under 16. Golf cart permits are available for navigating the campground.
