About

Moutardier Campground occupies a scenic stretch of shoreline on Nolin River Lake, a US Army Corps of Engineers reservoir in the rolling hills of south-central Kentucky. The lake's 5,795 acres of distinctive blue-green water draw over two million visitors annually for fishing, boating, and swimming. Anglers target catfish, bass, crappie, and walleye, while canoeists and kayakers can paddle sections of the Nolin River that flow through nearby Mammoth Cave National Park. The campground features 167 sites divided into loops A, B, C, and D. Standard electric sites offer 50-amp service with water hookups; non-electric sites are also available for tent campers and those seeking a more primitive experience. Site driveways range from 43 to 55+ feet, accommodating RVs and trailers up to 75 feet on select sites. All driveways are gravel with back-in access. Campfires are permitted in designated fire rings or grills. Facilities include flush restrooms and shower houses throughout the campground. The Moutardier, Ponderosa, and Wax Marinas are located around the lake, offering pontoon and johnboat rentals, boat slips, fuel, bait, and groceries. The Shady Creek Trail provides hiking opportunities along the shoreline and through the surrounding forest, known for its wildflowers. Mammoth Cave National Park lies a short drive or ferry ride away.
