Closed — Closed for the season. Operates from May 16 through September 30, with limited service from October 1 through December 1. Hyalite Canyon Road is closed to motorized use annually from April 1 through May 16.

About

Langohr Campground is situated in scenic Hyalite Canyon along Hyalite Creek at an elevation of 6,200 feet on the Bozeman Ranger District of the Custer Gallatin National Forest. Located just 12 miles south of Bozeman, Montana, the campground offers 19 single-family campsites positioned in open meadows along the creek, with some sites nestled among scattered pine and fir trees. Each site includes a picnic table and campfire ring. The surrounding area provides excellent outdoor recreational opportunities. Hyalite Creek offers quality fishing for Yellowstone cutthroat, Arctic grayling, and brook trout. Multiple hiking trails access the canyon's natural features. Hyalite Reservoir, located 3.5 miles from the campground, is a scenic 206-acre lake popular for boating, canoeing, fishing, hiking, rock climbing, and picnicking. The popular Hyalite Peak Trail begins near the reservoir, climbing 3,450 feet over 7.5 miles to Hyalite Lake and Peak, passing numerous waterfalls along the way. The campground is managed by Rocky Mountain Recreation Company and offers paved roads and campsite spurs. Facilities include vault toilets, potable water, and trash collection. Two sites are ADA accessible. The average parking spur measures 22 feet by 60 feet. Firewood is available for purchase at $8 per bundle. Standard camping fees are $26 per night, which includes two vehicles; additional vehicles are $9 each.

Directions

From Main Street in Bozeman, travel south along 19th Avenue for 7 miles to the paved Hyalite Canyon Road. Turn left and continue south for about 5 miles to the campground.
