About

Silver Lake State Park is a 776-acre state park located near the south end of Silver Lake in the Town of Castile, Wyoming County, New York. The park offers a variety of day-use recreational opportunities centered around the lake and surrounding uplands. The boat launch facility accommodates boats up to 16 feet in length and is open year-round, with docks available from late April through mid-October. The park requests that boaters winch boats onto trailers rather than power loading to preserve bottom conditions. Fishing is popular on Silver Lake, with both open-water and ice fishing opportunities depending on the season. For land-based activities, the park features picnic facilities including a pavilion that accommodates up to 56 people and is available for rental through ReserveAmerica. Hiking trails traverse the property, and in winter, multiple-use trails are available for cross-country skiing and snowmobiling. The upland section of the park is open for big and small game hunting in season by permit through a self-registration system. Year-round public restrooms serve park visitors. The park is open daily from 6am to 11pm, with a $6 vehicle use fee collected via automated kiosk.
