About

Lake Sinclair Recreation Area is a USFS campground located on the shores of Lake Sinclair, a 15,330-acre reservoir created in 1953 when the Oconee River was impounded by Georgia Power Company. Managed by the Oconee Ranger District of the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest, the campground sits in a scenic mixed pine and hardwood forest setting with direct lake access. The campground offers 33 campsites split between 28 tent-only nonelectric sites and 5 RV/trailer sites equipped with electric and water hookups. Each site includes a fire ring, picnic table, and lantern hook. Facilities include a bath house with flush toilets and showers, potable drinking water on each loop, a swim beach, and a boat ramp with dock. Day use areas feature picnic pavilions with grills. Quiet hours are enforced from 10 PM to 7 PM, and generators are not permitted. Maximum occupancy is 5 persons or immediate family per site. Pets are allowed on leash throughout most of the campground but are prohibited on the beach.
