Open

Open year-round, 24 hours daily. First-come, first-served at $5 per night. No potable water is available; campers must bring their own. The area is prone to flooding. Current water level drop at the boat ramp has caused exposed erosion.

About

Oconee River Campground sits along the Oconee River in Greene County, Georgia, within the Oconee Ranger District of the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest. The campground offers five primitive tent sites, each equipped with a table, tent pad, and grill. The main road through the campground is paved, and some sites and restrooms are ADA accessible. Facilities include vault toilets but no potable water, showers, or hookups. Campers should bring an adequate water supply. The area is prone to flooding, particularly during wet seasons. Generators are prohibited, and quiet hours are enforced from 10 p.m. to 7 p.m. Recreation opportunities include fishing (Georgia license required), motorized boating (valid registration required), day hiking, and picnicking. A boat ramp and dock are available, though visitors should be aware of potential low water levels and ramp erosion. The location is unstaffed.
