Relative Humidities of 25 percent or less can be expected for 4 or more hours Sunday afternoon into the evening. Winds will be 8-12 mph, from the south-southeast with gusts up to 20 mph. With dry fuels, high fire danger conditions can be expected. Please refer to your local burn permitting authorities whether you may burn outdoors. If you do burn outside, use extreme caution.

Located in Greene County within the Oconee Ranger District of Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest, Oconee River Recreation Area offers a peaceful camping experience along the Oconee River. This small, developed campground features five campsites equipped with picnic tables, tent pads, and grills, making it ideal for campers seeking a quiet riverside getaway. The recreation area provides access to a variety of outdoor activities including fishing, motorized boating via the on-site boat ramp, hiking, and picnicking. The main campground road is paved for easy access. The facility includes vault toilets and some campsites and restroom facilities are accessible to people with disabilities. Campers should note that drinking water is not currently available on-site, so visitors must bring their own supply. Operating year-round on a first-come, first-served basis at an affordable rate of $5 per night, the campground offers excellent value for those looking to experience Georgia's natural beauty. A separate day-use fee of $3 per vehicle applies for those using the boat ramp and picnic area. The Oconee River provides opportunities for fishing and boating, though water levels can fluctuate, potentially affecting boat ramp conditions.

Directions

From I-20 exit 130, drive north on GA-44 into downtown Greensboro. Turn left onto US-278 west, travel approximately one-third of a mile, and turn right onto GA-15 north for 11.8 miles. Entrance is on the right.
