About
Located in Greene County within the Oconee Ranger District of Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest, Oconee River Recreation Area offers a peaceful camping experience along the Oconee River. This small, developed campground features five campsites equipped with picnic tables, tent pads, and grills, making it ideal for campers seeking a quiet riverside getaway. The recreation area provides access to a variety of outdoor activities including fishing, motorized boating via the on-site boat ramp, hiking, and picnicking. The main campground road is paved for easy access. The facility includes vault toilets and some campsites and restroom facilities are accessible to people with disabilities. Campers should note that drinking water is not currently available on-site, so visitors must bring their own supply.
