About

Hamburg State Park sits on 225-acre Hamburg Lake in rural Washington County, Georgia. The campground provides 30 tent, trailer, and RV sites nestled in a shaded setting along the lake's edge. Each site offers water and electric hookups, and the campground includes hot showers, restrooms, a dump station, and ADA-accessible washer and dryer facilities. A playground and picnic shelter are centrally located for campers. The park's centerpiece is a restored 1921 water-powered gristmill that operates during special events, accompanied by a museum showcasing agricultural exhibits. Hamburg Lake offers fishing for largemouth bass, crappie, and bream from the pier or by boat (10 HP motor limit). Canoe, kayak, jon boat, and aqua cycle rentals are available from the park office March 15 through November 30. The park also features 3.5 miles of hiking trails and geocaching opportunities. Hamburg State Park is managed by nearby A.H. Stephens State Park. Park gates are open 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily, with office hours varying seasonally.
