Beautiful Dames Ferry is the only campground at 3,600-acre Lake Juliette, a crystal-clear lake formed by the Ocmulgee River in Monroe County, Georgia. The campground spans 60 acres and offers 30 tent, trailer, and RV campsites, many with magnificent waterfront views of the lake. Operated by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources and overseen by nearby High Falls State Park, this campground provides a serene escape for those seeking lakeside camping. Anglers will find excellent fishing opportunities for bream, crappie, largemouth bass, striped bass, redear, and perch. Boaters can launch from the on-site boat ramp, though motors are limited to 25 horsepower. The campground also features two picnic shelters and aquacycle rentals for exploring the lake. The facilities are well-maintained and offer a peaceful setting surrounded by nature. The campground's location offers easy access to nearby attractions including the charming town of Juliette, made famous in the movie Fried Green Tomatoes and home to the Whistle Stop Café. Other nearby destinations include High Falls State Park, Indian Springs State Park, Jarrell Plantation State Historic Site, and the cities of Forsyth and Macon.
