About
Dames Ferry is the only campground on Lake Juliette, a 3,600-acre reservoir formed by Georgia Power on the Ocmulgee River in Monroe County. The 60-acre campground features approximately 30 tent, trailer, and RV campsites, many with magnificent waterfront views. All sites include water and electric hookups (30/50 amp), fire rings with grates, and picnic tables. The campground is managed by High Falls State Park and underwent significant renovations in 2018-2019 that improved accessibility at the campground, boat ramp, bathhouse, and playground. Facilities include flush restrooms with showers, a dump station, two picnic shelters, and a playground. Firewood is available for purchase. Lake Juliette offers excellent fishing opportunities for largemouth bass, striped bass, crappie, bream, redear, and perch. Boating is permitted with a 25 horsepower motor limit, and aquacycle rentals provide a unique way to explore the lake. The campground operates year-round with reservations available up to 13 months in advance.
