About
Lake of the Ozarks State Park Shelters are day-use picnic facilities located within Missouri's largest state park, spanning over 17,000 acres along the scenic Lake of the Ozarks shoreline. Two shelters are available for reservation: the Grand Glaize Beach Shelter at $40 per day and the Public Beach #1 Shelter at $45 per day. Both accommodate groups of 50-100 guests and feature picnic tables, outdoor grills, and water access. The Public Beach #1 Shelter also includes electricity and is located near the main campground. These shelters are designed for day-use gatherings, picnics, and events rather than overnight camping. Restroom facilities are available nearby but operate seasonally. When not reserved, shelters are available on a first-come, first-served basis at no charge. Reservations can be made online through the Missouri State Parks reservation system from 30 days to 12 months in advance, while reservations for dates less than 30 days out require direct contact with the park. The park itself offers extensive recreational opportunities including swimming at public beaches, fishing, boating, hiking on over 20 trails, and exploring Ozark Caverns. Visitors seeking overnight accommodations should look to the park's campgrounds, which offer basic, electric, and full-hookup sites across four sections, as well as Outpost cabins and yurts.
Directions
From Jefferson City, take US-54 west approximately 40 miles. Turn south on Highway 42 and continue to Highway 134. The park entrance is on Highway 134, Brumley, MO 65017.
