Lake Maria State Park Camper Cabins

Open

Open year-round. Two of the three camper cabins operate through all seasons with woodstove heat; the third is seasonal. Reservations available through the Minnesota DNR reservation system up to 120 days in advance.

About

Lake Maria State Park's camper cabins provide a backcountry lodging experience within Minnesota's Big Woods ecosystem. The three rustic log structures are accessible only by foot, positioned a half-mile to one mile from the parking area along wooded trails near lakes and ponds. Each 12x16 foot cabin accommodates up to six guests with wooden bunkbeds (single-over-double configuration), mattresses, an interior table with benches, and woodstove heating for winter use. There is no electricity or indoor plumbing. Outdoor amenities at each cabin include a fire ring with cooking grate and a picnic table. Vault toilets are located nearby. The park's Trail Center, open year-round, provides flush toilets and potable water. During the warmer season, restrooms with showers become available at the Trail Center. The park spans 1,580 acres of rolling terrain featuring over 200 bird species, threatened Blanding's turtle habitat, and extensive hiking and equestrian trails. This is a walk-in-only campground with no vehicle access to cabin sites. Campers should be prepared to carry gear on foot and bring their own bedding, cooking equipment, and supplies.
