About

Lake Malone State Park encompasses 338 acres around a stunning 788-acre lake carved through sandstone formations in western Kentucky. The lake, reaching depths up to 45 feet, is prized for its clear water and excellent fishing, particularly for largemouth bass, crappie, bluegill, and catfish. Towering sandstone bluffs up to 100 feet high frame portions of the shoreline, creating a distinctive landscape unlike most Kentucky parks. The campground features 25 sites with 30-amp electric and water hookups, though no sewer connections are available. A central service building provides showers, restrooms, and laundry facilities. Each site includes a fire ring, grill, and picnic table. The park also has a dump station, marina with boat launch, swimming beach, and a small store selling drinks, snacks, ice, and boat fuel. Recreational opportunities extend beyond fishing to include swimming, jet skiing, water skiing, hiking, and wildlife watching. The park's trails wind through the unique sandstone terrain, offering views of the dramatic bluffs. A playground, volleyball court, and horseshoe pits provide additional activities. The park operates seasonally from mid-March through mid-November.
