About

Lake Louise Group Campground is located within Lake Louise State Park near Le Roy in southeastern Minnesota, just north of the Iowa border. The park features two group camping areas designed for larger gatherings. Red Oak Camp offers seclusion for groups of up to 30 people and is primarily designed for tent camping, though families with small RVs have also used the site. It includes a fire ring and picnic tables, with easy walking access to the main campground's shower building and the upper reaches of Lake Louise. Riverview Group Camp accommodates up to 50 people and sits on the banks above the Little Iowa River, providing fire rings, picnic tables, and easy lake access for canoes or fishing. The park combines woodlands, savanna, and restored tallgrass prairie on the eastern edge of the prairie biome. A historic dam impounds the Upper Iowa and Little Iowa Rivers to form the 25-acre Lake Louise. Group campers have access to the park's extensive trail system used by hikers, bikers, and horseback riders, as well as the paved Shooting Star State Trail that bisects the park. The main campground features modern shower facilities with individual shower rooms. The park offers fishing, canoeing, wildlife observation, and beautiful wildflower displays in spring and summer.
