About

Lake Louise State Park Campground sits within 1,100 acres of diverse landscape at the confluence of the Upper Iowa and Little Iowa Rivers in southeastern Minnesota. The 20-site semi-modern campground operates seasonally and features 11 sites with electric hookups and 9 non-electric sites. Each campsite includes a picnic table, fire ring with grill, tent pad, and parking area. A modern shower building provides flush toilets and hot showers for campers. The park's trail system winds through open meadows, lush hardwood forests, and prairie landscapes, attracting hikers, horseback riders, and mountain bikers. The paved Shooting Star State Trail bisects the park, offering additional recreational opportunities. A historic dam impounds the Upper Iowa and Little Iowa Rivers, creating the 25-acre Lake Louise, which provides excellent paddling, swimming, and fishing opportunities. The park is also recognized as a haven for butterfly and bird enthusiasts, with sightings of rare species throughout the season. The campground accommodates RVs up to 45-60 feet in length and includes a dump station for convenience. The park is open year-round from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., though camping facilities operate only during the warmer months. Its location near LeRoy makes it an accessible retreat for those seeking a quiet park experience in southern Minnesota.
