About

Lake Hudson Recreation Area sits on a 502-acre man-made lake near the Ohio border in Lenawee County. The semi-modern campground offers approximately 50 sites nestled among thick trees that provide privacy and shade. Each campsite includes 20/30 amp electrical hookups, a fire ring, and a picnic table. Facilities include vault toilets throughout the campground and potable water via hand pump. There are no showers or dump station on-site. The park holds the distinction of being Michigan's first state park dark sky preserve, open 24/7 year-round for exceptional stargazing. The no-wake lake is well-known for muskie fishing and also supports largemouth bass, crappie, and walleye. A designated swim beach, boating access site, and 1.5-mile trail round out the recreational offerings. Native grass fields support a pheasant restoration program, making this a popular fall hunting destination. An ADA-accessible tiny house cabin is available on site #22, and the park features an accessible boat/kayak launch and free accessible hunting blind. Pets are welcome in the campground on a 6-foot leash but are not permitted on the beach.
